An entire section of history (say, the Vietnam War) completely taught through poetry. Or a political campaign taught through photography ( I am thinking the Civil Rights Movement in the '60's, would be an excellent source for true thought). True art is often taken out teaching...it is so sad.
I think this is an awesome idea. I think it would work really well. one of the tings that really frustrated me when I was doing my degree was that a lot of students read in a kind of vacuum and didn't understand the importance of understanding the historical and political context of literature.
