I really hate the phrase "able minded". My mind is not unable it's just different

It does at times socially feel harder to function, because well socially expectations, and other things are pretty much made from a neurotypical centric perspective. It's one thing if someone sees it as harder to socialize due to that, but yeah when people refer to autism/aspergers as a mental disability that the individual "suffers" from it's really irritating.

If someone is going to pity me, I'd rather they pity me because I'm stuck in a neurotypical society, not because I'm not neurotypical myself. (I assume that's what this entry was about correct me if I'm mistaken?).

idk if i'm overstepping because i don't have any mobility-related impairments but it seems like even "able-bodied" is kind of contrary to the social model of disability. the disability is a societal failure to accommodate for difference, whether it's a ramp or a less neurotypical centered perspective on human "worth." and yet "differently abled" almost instantly became a terribly condescending liberal thing. idk.

I think the phrase "able minded" is worse for me but it might just be because I'd never heard it before. Idk I need to think about it more I think
